Who are Super SMART Women? When you stop and reflect on who you are as a person, and then you think back on influences in your life – a few names probably come to mind. Both men and women, I’m sure. But I want to talk about those women who have left a mark on our lives. Women who have helped mold our characters, helped build the moral foundations we stand on. They’ve not only taught us right from wrong, they’ve taught us how to be better. They’ve mentored us along the way and applauded us when we succeeded. They’ve encouraged us through tough times and they’ve shined a light on new paths helping us reflect and sometimes redirect us to where we needed to be.

These women are often unsung heroes in our lives. Quietly (sometimes) weaving character building threads into our life’s tapestry. As I’ve looked at these women in both my life and in the lives of others, there are 5 characteristics that show up consistently. Of course there are more, but these 5 are foundational in the types of women that influence others to be better. Foundational in the types of women that change history. These women are S.M.A.R.T. – both in the intelligence sense and as the acronym of the characteristics they embody.

• They Serve. They serve others selflessly, joyfully and often without recognition.
• They Mentor. As a role model, they mentor and inspire others to be their best.
• They Applaud. They are quick to congratulate others on their accomplishments and always give credit where credit is due.
• They Reflect. Their daily lives reflect the Creator they are devoted to. They also help others to reflect on their decisions and help them to make better choices.
• They Teach. They share their wisdom and knowledge with others freely without the need for personal recognition and only out of a desire to make the world a better place.

These Super S.M.A.R.T. women have taught us a lot. Now’s the time to share their stories with others. This platform is here so that we can collectively share the stories of the Super S.M.A.R.T. Women in our lives and shine a little light of recognition, of appreciation on what they have done for us–for others. But this platform is also here so that their stories inspire the next generations of Super S.M.A.R.T. Women to do more, love stronger and be kinder – to be S.M.A.R.T.
